I am school counselor, currently working with adjudicated youth. I am a woman well over 30 who has the misfortune of still being single but the magic of still getting to be a mom of sorts to dozens of traumatized youth each year at work. I am also blessed with an amazing church family that keeps me from being alone just because I’m solo. It has been and continues to be a long and bumpy journey to let go of the dreams for my life which have already died, to embrace the magic of the present reality I inherit, and to timidly hope for different realities in the future. God has not given me many of the things I have wanted or asked for in my life. But, He has given me so many things I never asked for or expected. And He has, of course, given me an eternity to repay any losses incurred here. Jesus will far exceed any absent or future husband and I will never lose Him.
